  • 7 tips for enjoying nature at home in February
  • March 17, 2026 by
    Mathieu Croix

The good news is that every day we gain a few precious minutes of light. In February, the first spring flowers and buds are appearing everywhere. Colorful flowering bulbs start to brighten up homes, balconies and terraces. Ideal for brightening up the end of winter!

Feeling the need to connect with nature but lacking inspiration? Here are 7 easy-to-implement ideas for February.

    • Adopt spring bulbs: Fill and multiply baskets, baskets or bowls with bulbs of snowdrops, hyacinths, crocuses, muscaris or daffodils. Place them indoors or outdoors to add a colorful touch to a sleepy home or garden.
    • Add colorful plants: to give your interior a boost, opt for cyclamen, azaleas, cape violets, calathea crocata or orchids.  Outside, while you're waiting for the bulbs you planted last autumn to bloom, add a few pansies, primroses or forget-me-nots, the perfect harbingers of spring.
    • Arrange flowering branches in a tall vase.
    • Start work in the garden: it's still too early for new planting, but you can already prepare your garden by removing weeds and any leaves that may be lying around.
    • Pamper your houseplants: towards the end of the month, repot any houseplants that need a bigger pot and a fresh supply of potting soil, to stimulate renewed growth.
    • Maintain pots and tools: a more indirect way of connecting with nature. But it's an essential part of keeping your plants healthy.
    • Invite birds onto your balcony or terrace. Present them with seeds in pretty, decorative feeders. Give them something to drink (lukewarm water if possible). Hang up a nesting box or clean out last year's (with hot water and a stiff brush).
