Caring for Pots & Planters

Garden ID pots and planters are designed to withstand the weather, but a few simple steps will help keep them looking their best throughout the seasons.

Regular cleaning

• Use a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge.
• Wash with warm soapy water.
• Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry.

UV protection

• The durable materials are designed for outdoor use, but avoid constant exposure in the height of summer where possible.
• Rotating the pots or moving them slightly can help to even out ageing.

Drainage management

• Check that the drainage holes are not blocked.
• Add clay balls or gravel to aid water circulation.
• In winter, ensure water does not freeze inside the pots (risk of cracking).

Additional tips

• Move heavy pots with rolling saucers to protect floors and your back.
• When overwintering, raise the pot slightly so it does not rest directly on damp or frozen ground.

Garden ID sculptures—animal, modern or mineral—are carefully crafted to retain their beauty, even outdoors.

Simple cleaning

• Clean with a damp cloth or soft brush.
• Avoid harsh products: solvents, bleach, pressure washers.

Weather protection

• Sculptures are weather-resistant, but:
• • avoid areas that are too exposed in summer,
  • prefer a sheltered place in winter (covered terrace, shelter, cold greenhouse).

Stability and safety

• Check stability on the ground, especially for tall or slender animals.
• Add a discreet fixing point if the area is windy.

Pro tip

To preserve the brilliance of hand-painted colours, a coat of non-glossy clear varnish (suitable for outdoor use) can be applied once a year.

Caring for Solar Lights

To make the most of the Garden ID lighting atmosphere, minimal but regular care will optimise the lifespan of your solar lights.

Cleaning the solar panel

• Wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth.
• For stubborn dirt: soapy water + soft cloth.
• Never use abrasive products that could scratch the cell.

Managing rechargeable batteries

• Garden ID lights work with rechargeable AA or AAA batteries.
• Replace batteries if the autonomy drops significantly.
• Remove batteries if storing for a long period during winter.

Optimising brightness

• Install the lights in a spot with good sun exposure.
• Avoid shaded areas under trees or roof overhangs.
• Point the solar panels south whenever possible.

Winter storage

• Store the lights during prolonged freezing periods.
• Store in a dry place, away from damp.
• Clean before storage, put back in place in spring.
